The new DIY Barrel Tiles as you can see are very economically priced and give in our opinion the best finish available on the market.
Made from a lightweight tough card these Tiles have a REAL BRICK COATING on each side, they are a superb New addition to STACEY'S MINIATURE MASONRY'S ever expanding range of REAL BRICK & STONE products, One side of the Roof Tile is a Medium Red and One side is a Red with Dark Weathered appearance and light patches of Lichen, both sides with a REAL BRICK FINISH but FULLY FLEXIBLE and can be simply cut with scissors or a craft knife and stuck on with any PVA Glue ( also available in our SHOP ).
You can have a Mixed finish or just use the Weathered side or do a more Classic looking roof with the Natural Brick finish side of the Tile!!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING YOUR DIY TILES
The new DIY Barrel Tiles as you can see are very economically priced and give in our opinion the best finish available on the market, but unlike our other products require a little bit of work yourselves to achieve the finished product, here is how you do it....
1) Draw lines 15 mm apart Vertically down your Dolls House or Models Roof
2) Using Approximately 3 mm Thick Balsa Wood or Similar cut with a Craft Knife to 13mm Strips and stick with PVA Glue directly between the lines
Now you are ready to Lay your tiles
3) Choose which side of your tiles you would like to use, the Darker Weathered Side or the Classic Plain Red Side
4) Starting at the bottom of your roof simply roll each tile around a smooth pencil or similar
4) Apply PVA Glue to the 2 underside inside edges of your tile, then lay onto your pieces of balsa (do the row along the front edge of your roof first and then work up your roof overlapping the tiles by 1mm)
5) You can use a small piece of sticky tape to stop any tiles on either end of your roof from lifting, you can pull this off after an hour or Two once the PVA has dried
6) It is important to make sure none of your tiles lift up on the edges before they dry, one great tip is to use Stanley Knife or Craft Knife Blades to tuck in between your tiles anywhere that you notice the tiles trying to lift, again you can remove these as soon as your Glue has set
